POSITION SUMMARY

Society for Conservation Biology (SCBN) is a non-profit making professional organization. SCBN aims to support knowledge-based conservation of Nepal’s biological diversity. SCBN is currently carrying out research capacity strengthening activities.

As a part of its objective, we are looking for an intern who will help to promote network and communication of the organization. This is a volunteer internship for 6 months.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about biodiversity conservation and is excited by the opportunity to work with diverse stakeholders. Prior experience is not mandatory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Developing a media and communications materials and tools.
2. Designing and editing websites
3. Editing and publishing posts and blogs
4. Communicate with diverse stakeholders
5. Managing and promoting social media sites
6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Work is performed from home (2 hours a day). No travel is expected or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or more in any discipline. Excellent communication skill in both Nepali and English is mandatory. A related background, or coursework/experience in communications, experience with WordPress and graphic design is expected but not mandatory.
